A Good Waxing Salon Is Hard To Find

There has been a definitive move toward male grooming over the past few years, with many men deciding to adopt a cleaner look with less body hair than in the past. For many men this means shaving, but for those who are seeking a more professional answer it means waxing at a salon. The clean look of waxing is far superior to shaving in that it lasts longer and has better results over time due to the regrowing hair being thinner and more easily removed, but for many men who are seeking to be professionally waxed there is another problem. Many waxing salons will not work below a man's waist.
In some areas of the United States and Canada, you are not legally allowed to provide waxing services below a man's waist, but in most areas the services are not available simply because the waxing salon does not want to work with men. This may be due to a stigma about being perceived as a massage parlor or some other business providing less than legal services under the guise of another service. It might be that the waxing technicians simply are uncomfortable working with men because they have not traditionally done so. No matter the reason, very few salons will actually provide the services that men are now seeking.
Many times, the salon itself will provide an ambiance that is not appealing to men, making the salon look more like a spa than a business providing a service. Salons that provide the best unisex waxing services will generally have a unisex ambiance as well, not catering too much to a feminine look even though females might still be their largest audience. These types of salons portray themselves much more like a medical office instead of a spa. Some salons will go as far as to market themselves in this manner, appealing to the fact that their customers are not coming in to relax, and instead are here for a quality waxing service at a good price.
The professional waxing salon is evolving to be more receptive to clients of both sexes, and morphing into a different look and feel as a result. While there are plenty of salons that still cling to the "old school" theory that only women care about being hair free, the more progressive salons are breaking new ground and treating men and women equally. It is still a good idea to inquire in advance if your local salon provides men's waxing.
