How to Do Your Makeup for an Interview - 5 Makeup Tips to Land the Job!

Do you have an interview coming up? If so, it is very important to look your best when meeting with a potential employer. After all, you will likely be competing with other applicants. Aside from showing up to the interview on time, with a well-constructed resume in-hand, you also need to look the part! You probably know that bright blue eye shadow is not acceptable to wear to an interview, but you may not know what eyeliner color to wear, whether or not to wear perfume and what type of foundation you should wear. Follow these simple tips for wearing makeup to an interview:
1) Makeup Foundation: Wear a foundation that has light to medium coverage. Do not wear full coverage foundation, even if you have a lot of blemishes and discoloration. Full coverage makeup foundation can look extremely cakey and thick, especially when worn in broad daylight.
2) Stay Neutral: Although wearing colorful eye shadow can be fun and youthful, an interview is not the appropriate place to wear colorful makeup. Apply an eye primer, followed by a dusting of eye shadow that matches your skin tone. This will cover little veins, redness and uneven skin tone on your eyelids. Next, find an eye shadow that is half a shade darker than your skin tone. Using a crease brush, apply this shade in your natural crease and lightly blend upward. Stop here! Do not use more than two eye shadow colors.
3) Eyeliner: Skip the black eyeliner just this once. Instead, opt for a creamy brown eyeliner using a kohl eye pencil. Apply the eye liner on your top lash line, and do not wear any eyeliner on your bottom lash line. Be sure to smudge the top lash line with a smudge brush or pencil brush, so that the eyeliner looks natural. It should look like your natural lash line, just slightly enhanced. When done correctly, your eyelashes look fuller and your eyes look more alert and open.
4) Professional Pout: Wear a tinted lip balm rather than lipstick. It is far too risky to wear lipstick to an interview, as lipstick can wind up on your teeth. Additionally, lipstick has fallen out of favor in recent years, with employers preferring a more natural look. Lipstick has a tendency to look too dramatic, even if you opt for neutral pinks. Everyone knows that isn't your natural lip color! Save the reds and fuschias for date night.
5) Fragrant Faux Pas: Do not wear perfume to a job interview. It goes without saying that you ought to be neat, clean and presentable when going to an interview. But you may be unaware that it has become el-passé to wear fragrances to interviews. Many people have allergies to the floral ingredients and botanicals commonly found in perfume and cologne. And, even if your potential employer isn't allergic or sensitive to fragrances, you run the risk of wearing a scent the employer simply does not like. How terrible would it be if you missed out on a job simply because the employer hates the smell of Hypnotic Poison or Angel?
Of course, figuring out how to do your makeup for an interview is only one piece of the puzzle. Be sure you have thoroughly researched the employer, industry and hiring manager ahead of time. Think about what questions you may be asked, and what questions you have for your potential boss. But rest assured, no one will question your appearance if you follow these 5 makeup tips

Simple Makeup Techniques for Accentuating Your Eyes With an Eyeliner

If I would ever have to choose only one makeup product, that would definitely be an eyeliner. Applying eyeliner takes a bit of practice and experimenting, but once you've mastered the technique, it will transform your look dramatically, defining and accentuating your eyes.
If you don't have a steady hand, sit down and place your elbow on a table for more control.
Application tips for the upper lash line:

  • Apply eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible, making sure you don't leave space between the eyeliner and the lash line. Your lashes will look fuller and lush. If you are struggling to get a perfect line, draw a few black dots at the base of the lash line and then join them.

  • Keep the line as thin as possible. If you desire a thicker line, you can always build up to it, but it's much easier to add liner than it is to remove what's already there. As a general rule, the thickness and intensity of the eyeliner should correlate with the size of your eyelid - the larger the eyelid area, the thicker yet softer the eyeliner should be; the smaller the eyelid area, the thinner and more intense the liner should be. If your eyelid doesn't show at all, you might want to reconsider lining altogether to avoid smearing and smudging.

Application tips for the lower lash line:

  • Apply a thin, soft line. Heavy liner on the lower lash line ends up looking like your mascara has smeared. Even if you use black for the lower lash line, apply it softer than you would for the upper lash line.

  • Avoid lining the inside rim of the lids. Besides making the eyes look smaller, after some time it will smear and accumulate in the inner corner of the eye, creating a messy look.

  • Make sure that the eyeliner on the lower lash line connects with the back corner of the upper lash line. This creates a more natural, cohesive look.

  • Dab concealer just below your lash line to keep liner in place.

Always apply mascara after you have applied eye shadow and eyeliner.
Eyeliner Formulas

  • Eyeliner Pencils are the easiest to apply. Make your eye makeup last longer by setting your eyeliner with a matching eye shadow, lightly dusting it on top of the eyeliner.

  • Eye Shadow Liners are easy to apply, dry or damp, and can be long-lasting if applied correctly. The variety of colours will allow your creativity to shine through.

How to use: Lightly dampen an eyeliner brush - I recommend using sterile eye drops, but you can use plain water as long as you wipe the lid dry at the end of the process. Shake a little loose shadow into the container lid and dip the damp brush into the powder until you get enough on the tips. Line your eyes as you would normally do with an eyeliner.

  • Liquid, Cake and Gel Liners are the most difficult to apply, but with patience and practice, you can achieve incredible results. These liners are a good choice for creating dramatic looks.

No matter which formula you prefer, an eyeliner is an absolute must in any makeup bag.

Everyday Make-Up - Do It Naturally

Natural make-up is the in thing today. Gone is the time when caked up layers of foundation and concealers were what one noticed on a woman's face at first look. Things have toned down to a more down-to-earth look, especially since the proportion of working women increased in the society. Looking good and smart was required by the ladies who went to work, as first impressions are very important in professional circles, as we are all aware. The days of peacock make-up are a thing of past, unless one plans to go to a club or a crazy event.
Everyday make-up is no less than a serious matter for most women, because it is the most difficult to get right. A little extra or a little too less causes dramatic effects on the face which don't quite fit well with all the situations a woman faces through the day. It is essential for her to know exactly what she wants, and how she needs to apply it. Make-up is a delicate balance of hues, textures and combinations that work hand-in-hand to produce amazing results. If done professionally, they enhance facial features in a way that does not lessen the natural beauty of a woman's features. If not handled with care, it will transform a woman's face into something that does not look like her at all. Make-up should be done only to highlight a woman's strong features and get them balanced with others. It should always be used in moderation, unless the job requires it heavy-weight.
Speaking of make-up undoubtedly raises the question of harmful chemicals and newspaper articles and skin problems - what not. While it is true that make-up harms your skin, there is also the fact that it does so when we get careless with it. All products are tested prior to their release in market, and are safe on most skin types. With sensitive skin, the story might be entirely different, though. Sensitive skin does not respond well to the conventionally available make-up products; acne, rashes and sometimes even worse repercussions are seen when people with such a skin type apply regular make-up.
Organic make-up brands are usually safe for such skin. Best organic skin care products available across all major stores are made with natural substances that do not harm sensitive skin even in the least. Women with this problem just need to go out shopping for best make-up for sensitive skin, and that's the end to their worries. Organic products are the products which are manufactured using natural ingredients, so they don't have as many harmful chemicals as the regular products do. A Non-toxic make-up brands list is available on the Internet on many websites for the women to see
